We left Redmond early Sunday morning ...
and began our climb through the Cascade Mountains.
Our goal was to enjoy an alpine inspired breakfast on Mt. Hood!
Here we are at the historic Timberline Lodge! I had been here once as a child ... such fun to visit again!
They had an amazing area that informs visitors about the history of the lodge ... here is a mock-up of how the rooms were originally decorated! Pendleton wool blankets on the beds! Hand appliquéd motifs on the draperies ... loved it!
I even found knitting inspiration ... love the sweater motif found on this gentleman's sweater. He is responsible to rebuilding the lodge in the 60's when it was in serious disrepair.
The breakfast buffet was amazing ... highlighting Oregonian ingredients.
After we ate, we were given a traditional cocktail of apple cider vinegar and molasses ... designed to assist digestion and build up immunities! A lodge tradition!
I could blog about the details and history of this lodge for weeks ... everyone who lives in or visits Oregon needs to spend some time here. I'm so happy I included it in our itinerary!
Our final quilt shop visit was the Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe ... an inspiring way to end the shop hop portion of our trip! We all found treasure to take home!
We ended our final day together ...
... by taking a paddle boat tour of the Columbia Gorge!
We enjoyed a delicious dinner ...
... and beautiful views. A wonderful way to say good-bye to Oregon!
Saying good-bye to one another was much more difficult ... after a week together we had developed into a team! Shared experiences build an attachment between those who participate ... on top of that we shared our pasts as well as our hopes ... resulting in friendships that will last forever. I already miss them ... and would travel with any or all of them again! They enriched my dillydally dream in ways that I could never have imagined ... I am grateful ... I feel blessed.

Do what you love. Include others in your dream. Do dillydally!

Such fun we had on the Oregon trail! We were blessed in so many ways-I'm thinking of the great weather we had at the Quilt Show (our top destination). I have so many memories I will cherish forever, especially the friendships that were made and strengthened in Oregon! Miss you all! Thank you Terri for sharing your dream and knowledge with us in your well organized dilly dally way.
