We left Portland in the early morning Monday ... I think we were all excited to get to the beach ... I know I was!
We stopped to stretch our legs while climbing across a small mountain range.
Our first stop was Cannon Beach!
We had breakfast with an ocean view!
The first quilt shop of the day was Center Diamond ...
... where owner Julie and her staff treated us like Quilt Royalty!
The flowers along the coast were incredible ... this rose was in the shop's parking lot! Amazing!
Our next stop was Wheeler's Creative Fabrics ... and once again we were treated like celebrities! We all found treasure there!
Again ... the flowers were amazing! Here is Mary Ellen proving that these blossoms were bigger than our heads!
Again ... (yep, I know that I am repeating myself) the roses! Gorgeous ... growing right outside the shops door.
I took pics as I was standing in the shop's door ... flowers to the right ...
... flowers to the left! Wonderful! The shop and staff were just as wonderful!
Next ... we were on to Tillamook and their infamous Cheese Factory! As the daughter of a dairy farmer ... I never knew that a dairy plant could feel like Disneyland! The crowds ... the lines ... the fun!
The shop in Tillamook, Jane's Fabric Patch ... is pretty in pink ... and pretty amazing indoors! We sew enjoyed the shop ... and found fabric and patterns we're excited to work with at home!
Our next stop was Cape Meares Lighthouse!
It was a beautiful short hike down the bluff ...
... with a lovely view!
Finally ... time to get our feet in the sand ...
... and play for a bit in the waves!
We began and ended our day with sand and surf ...
... friends ... fabric .. and fun! What a wonderful way to dillydally!
