We enjoyed another wonderful day on the road! Today we traveled through Cowboy Country!
All seven Cowgirls were great about the many miles we traveled today! We often commented about how we were glad that our "wagon" was a Ford van that was fueled by gasoline rather than oxen! ;-) Too fun!
First stop today was The Fabric Shack in Prineville!
The owner was so generous and opened early for us, as she understood that we had a very long drive ahead!
The second quilt shop was in the community where my mother grew up ... Mt. Vernon! We had a great time at the Shiny Thimble!
Our third stop was Quilts and Beyond in Prairie City! They welcomed us with ice cold water and chocolate truffles made locally! Yep, they spoiled us as we found treasure to take home!
Our last shop of the day was Treasure Every Stitch in Baker City. They stayed open late for our arrival ... sew sweet of them!
We traveled through amazing country today ...
... even with 90+ temperatures ... these pioneers were in good spirits!
It is beautiful in a way so very different than our Alaska and Minnesota homes.
Speaking of homes! My first cousin Ruthie invited us to stop by her home in Dayville for lunch! Such a treat to have a handmade luncheon! Her daughter Kalli and three grandchildren were there to greet us as well! What a treat for me to see family ... so good for the soul!
After our two hour drive, we all needed to use the bathroom ... look what greeted us! A little touch filled with such thoughtfulness!
We gathered in Ruthie's front lawn to say our good-byes! What a gorgeous view she has from her beautiful home! We all appreciated Ruthie's kindness and hospitality!
We had a glorious time today ...
... soaking up new places and meeting new faces. Another wonderful dillydally day!
