The Journey

Life is a journey … after 29 years of teaching I have decided to retire.  I still look forward to Monday mornings … I love the students who spend time in my classroom … I continue to be passionate about the subjects I teach … my teaching career has been a source of immense growth and joy!  Teaching is something I am very comfortable with … a path that is well groomed and easy for me to navigate.

I have never feared change … I have always faced challenges … it is time to create and build a different path … a new journey.  This is not a decision I spent a lot of time thinking about … nor do I have any plans in place … a new adventure without expectations!  Everything will be all right.  Wish me luck!

Do what you love.  Embrace change!  Do dillydally!

  1. Change can be wonderful....you don't have to completely retire from teaching....there are many who want to learn to quilt.....or knit...they need someone to teach them how. :)))) Plus retirement will mean more time to Dillydally!!!!! Blessings on your new path in life.

  4. You've touched and bettered so many lives. I'm saddened that future children will never know the joy you bring to learning, but happy and excited for you in your new path. You bring a positive energy to those around you. Something, that from you, has guided me through my personal life. I wish you the best and hope to still visit with you on occasion. I'm certain there have been many over the years, but it was always something I held in high honor. Enjoy your journey. Your "Favorite"

  7. Congratulations! ! I will never forget you or all the classes you taught. The best part of my day in high school was sitting in Home Ec. Cross Stitching and listen/singing to Beauty and the Beast. It was truly the funnest class. And oh, all the yummy foods we made. I still make some of them today. You are a great teacher Mrs. Stavig! You are patient, kind, understanding, nurturing, always smiling and the list goes on. Thank you for Teaching and being so caring and such a great role model.

Congratulations......I am excited for you.... you inspire me(on many levels) been trying to visualize what comes next....maybe it is ok to be a fuzzy out of focus picture and it won't be a crisp and clear until I just do it....not quite comfortable.......with the unknown.....but I am getting closer! You can help blaze the trail of retirement. Wishing you peace and contentment in your journey!

  10. It sounds like a very well deserved retirement dear Dilly Dally and I'm sure the new journey will be a great adventure. I'd also like to comment on the camp. I checked out all the post and was sooo impressed by the amount of effort you put into the planning and preparation. It seemed such a fun and productive weekend for your lovely group. I could take some hints from it for our local group. Keep up the good dilly dally work. Blessings, Trills.
