Patchwork Party!

Even though it has been months since I posted here ... a lot has been happening here at DillyDally Days!  More on that later ... for now we'll focus on what is happening in the very near future!

Over the past year, several people have approached me about teaching a beginning level patchwork class.  Several have never learned to piece and others feel that they were in need of an opportunity to refresh their quilt making skills!  Finally everything is in place for me to do that!

Let's have a Patchwork Party!

Here are the details:


  • We will meet three times, February 28, March 7 & 14th
  • Set up will begin at 6 pm.  Instruction will be from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.  
  • High School Home Ec Room
Participants will Learn the Following Skills
  • Use of tools required for patchwork.
  • Preparing fabric for piecing.
  • Use of rotary cutter and rulers.
  • Accurate seam allowance necessary for piecing.
  • Strip piecing.
  • Piecing half square triangles.
  • Pressing patchwork.
  • Quilt block construction.
  • Piecing a quilt top.

Patchwork Pattern
  • We will be making the Lucky Stars pattern by Atkinson Designs.
  • Participants will chose to make either the Kids size (45x60") or the Lap size (60x75")
  • The pattern is included the the class fee!

Equipment Required to Participate
  • A sewing machine in good working order.  Only a straight stitch is required for this project.
  • A rotary cutter with a fresh blade
  • Fabric scissors
  • Sewing Machine Needles (Size 12)
  • Quilting Pins
  • Seam ripper

Registration and Cost
  • Space is limited!  Be sure to register online by clicking here or the one in the right hand margin 
  • Once you've registered, I will send you a supply list!
  • The class fee is $75.  That includes 9+ hours of instruction plus the pattern!
