I think I may have frightened her, but she is such a "quilting rock star" I couldn't help myself! My gushing was all over the place ... I can hardly remember any part of our conversation ... I'm confident that I made absolutely no sense. She was so kind ... and very gracious ... and hid her fear very well. ;-) I so wish that Dena and all my QBees could have been there as well ... and now that I've met her I can tell them that our admiration of her is well spent ... Terry Atkinson is not only a talented designer, most importantly she's a peach!
I didn't have a chance to get a picture of the other quilting rock star I saw that evening ... and she hosted the event ... Roseann Kermes! Fortunately I am visiting her shop, Rosebud's Cottage, next week and hope to see her there! Roseann has become my "go to" person when it comes to my Minnesota/Quilting life. She is always so helpful and accommodating... and when I have a question or concern ... she either has or finds the answer! I check her blog daily, and am amazed at all she does ... designing ... running a shop ... planning events ... and she does it all with such grace! Unbelievable!
There were two other quilting rock stars there ... Sherri Falls of This n' That and Celine Perkins of Perkins Dry Goods ... I didn't see or meet them ... there was a ball game going on after all! And the Minnesota Twins won the game! Here are some photos...
Sister DillyDally and our "bags" enjoying the "pregame" activities!
The game and stadium!
The quilters...working hard to get around all four corners/bases!
I was torn...do I work on my binding ... follow the game ... or people watch? Too many choices ... too much fun!
Look at the pincushion this quilter made! She made it to wear on her finger during the game! I was sooo impressed ... it was too cute for words! Plus ... QBees, check out her Kansas Troubles quilt ... love it!
Between innings, they had so many fun things going on in the stadium via the big screen. There was even a marriage proposal ... just too darn cute!
This is the goodie bag that Roseann put together for everyone ... it includes a needle case kit she designed shaped like a baseball ... love it!
OMGosh...what fun! Gotta love this dillydally life!
You just make me laugh! And I talked to Terry ... you didn't weird her out or anything ... she thought you were a blast. Can't wait to actually see you next week.
