Celebrating the Dillydally Life!

I love my dillydally life ... dillydalliers celebrate anything and everything that comes to mind ... we are always able to find some reason to celebrate.  Today I'm celebrating two dillydally accomplishments!

First ... remember my New Year's resolution?  It was ...
I will actively recruit and encourage others to adopt the principles of dillydallying!
You can read the post here.  Well ... I recently was informed that I have a convert!  YES!  I know!  I couldn't be more excited!

I want to officially welcome Melissa to DillyDallyDom (the kingdom of DillyDally)!  She joined our ranks on January 11th!  She lives in New York State and when not dillydallying teaches 4th grade.  In her "Post of Proclamation" she shares the joy of finishing a project because she chose to without guilt attached and how she shamelessly began a new one!  Read all about it here!  I know you will enjoy her blog just as I have! Congratulations Melissa!  I love how blogging has brought so many kindred spirits like yourself into my life!  A terrific reason to celebrate!

See this face ...
... this is the face of a very happy dillydallier!  She plays an important role in the second reason why we are celebrating the Dillydally life today!

Today ... this post ... is my 200th!  I had no idea that it was sneaking up on me until last Sunday while writing the previous post.  A few of you might recall how I celebrated my 100th post last June (here).  I had fun doing that ... and wanted to do something similar ... I thought about it for a few hours and finally found my inspiration.
Nature is always the greatest source of inspiration.  I am always showing pictures from my front deck ... usually with the tide in.  We know it is bitter cold when ... while the tide is receding, a layer of seawater freezes and is left behind.  Yes ... you can and we have skated on it before!  Jack Frost has been working overtime in this corner of our planet!

So ... we will celebrate with another DillyDally Give-A-Way!  I quickly began making this wall quilt that you have the opportunity to win!
Yep...in true dillydally fashion it isn't quite finished yet. ;-)  All I have left is the quilting and binding!  I love this block from the Winter Wonderland pattern by Crab-Apple Hill.  Making snow angels is such a wonderful and seasonal way to dillydally!

Here are my Give-A-Way perimeters...
  • You must leave a comment on any post I write between now (Jan. 20) through Wednesday (Jan. 26).
  • One comment per person and please share something about you and your dillydallying.
  • If you leave a comment and are also a follower, you will be entered twice in the drawing.
  • On Thursday, January 27th, a random drawing will determine who receives the wall quilt.
  • The winner will be announced on a post dated January 27th.
  • I will personally mail or deliver the wall quilt to the drawing winner!
Remember ... your chances of winning are high!  This is a very humble blog ... coming from a remote corner of the planet ... spreading the power of dillydallying!

May you find many reasons to celebrate and go dillydally!

  1. Oh Mrs. Dilldally! You really make me smile. :) First because I love your approach to life- and your posts about said approach, and second because I would dearly love to win your giveaway. That snow angel is too cute!
Thank you so much for mentioning my blog. I really am a Dillydally convert - especially the part about not feeling guilty (thought that takes some practice).
I am currently dilldallying a bit because I should be getting ready for school, but instead I am surfind blog-land for a few minutes. I am so glad I did! Have a perfectly wonderful Dillydally kind of day! :)

  2. I would love to win the snowman stitcher quilt. It sure is cute the way the snowman is making a snow angel in the snow! I often dilly dally around when it comes to finishing quilting projects. I have bagged up my UFO's and want to work on them throughout the year. But the problem is that I just started a new quilted journal cover, and that isn't finished either...

  3. Mrs. Dilly Dally,
You must have great powers to bring over people into the Dilly Dally life, as the above readers were still dilly dallying very early this morning!!! I am always ready to dilly dally, in fact many times start my day doing just that before I start work. Either a few things stitched together or seams/projects that need some quick pressing. Love your cute wallhanging and would be delighted if I won it. Please continue to post as I look forward to it, and so enjoy all of your great pictures you include. The recent frost/snow ones were awesome.

  4. I follow your blog by having it in my blog list. It's the first one I read. I especially enjoy the view ( kinda bumpy to be skating on that ice?) and your visits to MN.

  5. I met you last summer when we both were @ Emily's quilt shop in Bemidji, MN. We got a sneak preview of the projects that Emily & her crew came up with using the Minnesota fabrics! I've been following your blog ever since! Please enter me in your drawing for the darling snowman.

PS I hope to meet you again.

  6. I want my prize delivered to me in person - no trusting the USPS!!

As for my dilly-dallying, I do not like to do borders and feel no guilt about having not one, not two, but THREE quilts without borders and the fourth one is ready to be sewn together. No need to finish those quilts without borders when there are so many new quilts waiting to be made!!

  7. Mrs. Dilly-Dally... Where do I even start? You have been an inspiration to me since I was a wee little girl. Thanks for being there in my journey of learning how to quilt and cook. I am currently working on a lupin wall hanging right now and have 4 quilts in progress. My boyfriend keeps asking me when I am going to just finish them already... I guess he doesn't understand the dilly-dally lifestyle, does he? You only work on a certain project if you feel like it and start new ones on a whim!

  8. You know me and the dilly dallying lifestyle - I'm taking table toppers with me on my next trip and if I get to work on them - good, if not - no guilt! Oh, did I mention I've only been working on these for the past year?!! Hurray for dilly dallying....

  9. I have been following your blog now for awhile at the tip of a fellow quilter friend. I "think" we are about the same age and I loved following your love story recently and your shop hop adventure last summer. I am working hard at the dilly-dally life style and of course I shouldn't be-it should just happen shouldn't it?? :) Congratulations on your 200th post!!!!

  10. Mrs. Dilly Dally, I ran across your "business" card today while rifling through my paperwork all the while wishing I was dilly dallying on some granny square necklaces I have on promise to one of girlies best friends.

Here's crossing my fingers - I usually find these types of blog posts the day after a really fun giveaway...

    See you soon --

  11. As you know Mrs.DillyDally, I am now a true convert. I thought I was part of the club, but then I had a baby, and now the meaning...the essence, of DillyDallying is like the elixir of happiness. That one lone block I got done today satisfied me like a whole quilt would have a year ago! I was admiring the wall hanging today, I am happy to know there is a chance it will be mine!

  12. Mrs. Dilly Dally, the snowmen are so cute. Your embroidery work is so beautiful. I have been dilly dallying to much lately with my great family so I really haven't been getting anything done. My husband has now asked that I finish something before I go to the next projects. I just see something new I like and I start it. I like to dally in many different projects. The completing may or may not happen. O well. Glad to see that your snowmen are almost done though.

  14. Mrs Dilly Dally, your snow angel just makes me happy. Wishing we had some snow, not just ice. I've have done so much dilly dallying that I can't get into my sewing room. Sure hope to get something done soon or my company may complain as to their accommodations. Congratulations on your blog!!!!!!
