We woke to heavy fog ... which promised blue skies were hiding behind it. With only 4 days before Christmas, it was time to bake some cookies!
I traditionally make three different cookies ... just our family favorites! Today I made Ginger Heart Thins. They have a strong ginger flavor ... rolled very thin ... baked until crisp ...
... and frosted with vanilla candy coating! Perfect accompaniment to a hot cup of strong coffee! It was a busy morning ... and I kept a close eye on the sky!
The fog in front of the house had finally lifted about 1:30 pm ... we were out the door! There was still a bit of fog hovering over the lake ... for me, it added to the beauty of the day!
Our days continue to get a bit shorter ... but will begin to change on Friday! Tomorrow (Thursday) is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year! In our remote corner of the planet, we celebrate when the earth's axis begins to tilt in the opposite direction!
