Those of you who have visited dillydallydom often, know that we QBees...
...love to celebrate birthdays! One thing our age has taught us is to have FUN ... it is the dillydally way!
Julie and I have July birthdays ... this year we decided to host our own party ... at Lila's new quilt shop, Cordova Quilters' Hideout!
Julie chose a project from the Moda Bake Shop and taught all of us how to make one!
We treated the project like a mystery...they were given a supply list and no other hints! Here is Marie with her folded star!
Yep ... as always we were silly the entire evening! ;-) Wish you could hear Val's giggle!
Love the soft colors in Terry's ... sew fun to see how they came out ... no one knew what they were making when they chose the fabrics!
Loved the "harvest" color of Barb's star!
Lila's star came out just as cheerful as she is! Sew cute!
Diane used her signature color ... purple ... in a very striking way!
Here is mine! Yep ... very unusual fabric and color choices for me! The pattern and instructions are for a pot holder and can be found here. We came up with many other things it could be made into! Believe me ... as a group of women ... we never lack for ideas!
Here is Julie's tool cup cozy ... made with Minnesota Shop Hop 2011 fabrics, of course. Julie is the last QBee in the cycle of gifts ... they all have one of these now! Knowing that ... makes me smile.
It was so fun ... just to sit and sew with friends. Our lives pull us in so many different directions ... I treasure the time we spend together. A wonderful way to celebrate my birthday!
