Hello June!

Here in my remote corner of the planet ... May 2018 was tough on this dillydallier!
May 31, 2018 - Alaganik
If you follow along on Instagram, you know that we only had one day the entire month of May without rain.  On Thursday, the forecast mentioned a slim chance ... that a bit of sun ... might be available out the road.  Ever the optimist, I packed up my knitting ... organized snacks for Nissa and I ... with the intent of spending the entire day at our favorite spot!  As we approached our destination ... the weather took a U-Turn and went from marginal to bad!  Yep ... more cold rain!  It doesn't happen often, but I could feel a fragment of despair entering my psyche.  Would spring ever arrive?

Welcome June!

Friday, June 1st!
June 1, 2018 - Alaganik
What a difference a day makes!  June arrived in all her sunshine filled glory!
Oh my ... I could feel the plants and living creatures soaking up the sun's warmth!  Nissa and I joined them ... it felt wonderful ... finally the sights and sounds of spring!!!
We celebrated with honoring Nat'l Donut Day and Dairy Month!  We took a long, leisurely walk!  I love knitting outdoors ... it felt wonderful ... and any hint of despair immediately floated away!
The sunny day lasted for 19 hours ... every living thing responded!

Saturday, June 2nd!
Saturday morning revealed that clouds were moving in ... so we took our walk early.  Caffeine was required!
Brother and GF DillyDally were out on the Sound, so we had Ari for the day.  They play hard ... tired pups are happy pups!
Friends came over for a potluck dinner!  Good food and great conversation with friends ... enjoyed every minute!

Sunday, June 3rd!
The clouds were thick ... but it didn't rain!  We returned to Alaganik for a family picnic!
It was fun to return and see the impact the sun and warmer temps had made!
The alder leaves have finally emerged ... even though they are about 2-3 weeks behind schedule ... I am so happy they are finally here.  They are my favorite version of green!
Blossoms are beginning to show themselves as well!  Fresh colors revealing their magic!
The first campfire of 2018!  Hotdogs roasted on a stick ... smores ... the clouds and chilly wind did not dampen our enthusiasm for spring's arrival!
This is also happening ... I finally feel like the end is in sight! I am eager to get it finished, and spring's arrival increases my fervor to see it done!

Monday, June 4th

The first full week of June begins ... spring is finally here ... summer will quickly follow!  The month of June is filled with plans, family, projects and fun!  Stay tuned!  Enjoy June in your corner of the planet!

Do what you love!  Do dillydally!

It was late here in WI also.
Some of the Spring flowers are just coming up now.
We have rain off and on.
We have had some very warm days, now it's been cool again.
    The doggies look happy!
