Revisiting Oregon's Coast

It was early morning as we worked our way over the mountains to reach Oregon's coast.  Near the summit we took a few moments to stretch our legs!  A beautiful day!
We enjoyed breakfast with this view!
Coastal weather in Oregon results in amazing flowers!  This border of red roses were stunning!
Look at the size of the blossoms!  Oh ... and the aroma!
I love hydrangeas ... the bushes along the coast were vibrant in color and gigantic in size!
Mary Ellen sat next to this bush ... nice to be able to have a size reference!
My mother's favorite ... yellow roses!
We visited the Tillamook Cheese Factory ... what a busy place.
It was interesting to see cheese being packaged, but I found the history about dairy farming in this area especially interesting!
The views along the coastal highway are terrific!
Sea birds using the cliffs as a nursery ... always fun to observe.
A quick hike through coastal forest ...
...  led to coastal cliffs ...
... and a lighthouse.

We all enjoyed the cool mist ...
... as well as the views ...
... but it was time to get our feet on a sandy beach!
The Pacific Ocean greeted ...
... and baptized our tender toes with her cool and refreshing saltwater.
Mother Nature's spa.
Our first day on the road was long ... but wonderful.

  1. I love the coastal forest! Next trip, OR coast.
I've been to the San Fran coast, ran the redwoods so I guess I have an idea of how beautiful it was.
I could feel the cool mist as you were talking about it!
