Quilting Therapy!

Mother Nature has been hitting us hard ...
... not with snow, but with multiple inches of rain.  This photo was taken Monday (1/12), the only day this week that we could walk and stay somewhat dry!
Even though it is wet ... it has been warm.  Temps have been in the 40's ... I had to take my mittens and jacket off in order to finish our walk Monday ... it was too warm!
Kysa was so overheated, she couldn't bother to look up for a photo!  That heavy fur coat she wears is not removable! ;-)
The rain has been relentless since Tuesday!  Flicka and I entertained ourselves by binding a few quilts that I had had a long arm quilter do recently.  Flicka was especially engaged as we auditioned binding fabric for this scrap quilt! ;-)
She did encourage me with tons of kitty cuteness ... such a fun furry wingnut!
The past several days have been so dark and dreary with the rain and heavy cloud cover ... it is impossible to get decent photos of anything here in the house.  Today our local quilt guild has their monthly "Time to Sew" event!  I'm taking the three quilts that I bound this week for show and tell.  Hope I can get better photos of them in the classroom's lighting!
At December's event, I was finally able to lay out this "Slide Show" quilt top that I've been plodding along on!  Hope to piece it together at today's meeting!  Wish me luck!  Spending the day ... socializing and sewing with QBees ... will be good therapy after a week of inhospitable weather!  I always leave these events inspired!  Our members are amazing!

Do what you love.  Do dillydally!

  1. I love your slide show quilt so far! It's one of the prettiest I have seen. I am still slowly working on my mittens from quilt camp!

    1. Hi Julie! Sew fun to hear from you! I am thrilled to hear that you are making progress on your mittens! I have such fond memories of my time with you all in Idaho! If you run into any snags with your mittens, reach out to Nancy. She is on her 5th pair ... I think that qualifies her as a pro! Take good care. Hugs!
