Dillydallying on the Job!

Last week was filled with graduation activities here in my remote corner of the planet.

It is a crazy time of the year for us school teachers, I had an event or some type of obligation every evening!  Again ... it is crazy, but great!
Friday, May 18th was spent dillydallying with students 20 some miles out the road.  One of my fellow teachers and I feel that it is important to reward the kids by getting them out to enjoy the nature that surrounds us.
We took them hiking...
... did a lot of bird watching ...

... and participated in some serious camp cooking!  Yep, it included the first smores of the year!
We were happy that we had required them to bring boots, hats, coats and mittens!
As you can see ... it is far from green here in our remote corner of the planet!  How I treasure spending time like this with students ... the types of learning that takes place cannot be measured!  It was a wonderful day for everyone!

Our seniors graduated on Saturday ... this week is the last for students ... then a week of inservice training for teachers!  On the evening of June 1st, my full-time summer dillydallying will begin!
Supervisor Flicka and I have big dillydally plans!  Stay tuned! ;-)
Do what you love.  Do dillydally!

  1. I still see some snow. I hope you are on the way to warm, springlike weather.

  2. Wow - I can't believe that you still have snow on 22 May! Is the typical?

  3. Flicka is growing!!! I do miss the end of the year activities from my former teaching years, enjoy! Mary Ellen

  4. Hiking? Good to hear that you're well recovered!
