Yesterday was a big day for many reasons!
QBee Lila opened her new quilt shop ... Cordova Quilters' Hideout! She began working on this dream last summer on our Minnesota Shop Hop tour. She took extensive notes on all 24 shops we visited. And has been working on establishing her own shop ever since! Not all of the fabric and notions have arrived yet ... shipping to our remote corner of the planet is an issue ... but she decided it was time to open anyway! We are so happy she did!
She is carrying Fig Tree's California Girl fabric line. With springs late arrival here in Cordova, this fabric is especially refreshing!
QBee Val made this applique' sample and will be teaching classes on multiple applique' techniques!
To show case the fabric we made several samples. Val made the childrens apron and Terry made the table topper.
My samples for this line included the adult apron, table topper, purse and cup cozy. Finally, I can prove that I have been "doing something"! ;-) We dillydalliers are always busy ... doing something!
Val made the feature quilt using a jelly roll and charm square pack. Linee did the machine quilting. We are all impressed with the results!
Lila will also be carrying Thimbleberries fabric and patterns. Yep, we're excited!

Val made the applique' table topper and the placemats. Terry B. made the table runner. We all love how versatile Thimbleberries fabric is ... not to mention the quality ... it is amazing!
Another purse and cup cozy were my contribution to the Thimbleberries sample collection.
Lila's husband, Mr. Hideout was in charge of decorating for the grand opening!
QBee Diane made and decorated not only one...
... but two beautiful and delicious cakes to celebrate. Punch was also served!
It was a fun and busy day!
Local quilters even brought in projects that were in progress ...
... for show and tell and to purchase the needed supplies to finish them!
Yep ... the fun at the Hideout has begun! Congratulations Lila! Dreams do come true!
Do what you love! Dream! Do dillydally!
Mrs. DillyDally
How fun! I remember the excitement coupled with apprehension that no one would come when I opened my shop nearly seven years ago. So happy for Lila and the quilters of Cordova that she's realizing her dream!
